Recording a presentation with a script... WITHOUT a teleprompter?

In the era of covid more and more of our interaction with our clients is becoming virtual, and that is true across so many industries here in 2021.

Nowadays we can record our webinars/speeches/courses ahead of time and then play the entire thing back and edit as needed! Sounds great, right?

Well, in theory, yes this sounds like it would be much less nerve-racking to have the chance to sit down and talk to our camera with the opportunity to just re-record if we mess up, or if the neighbor happens to ride by our office window on his lawnmower just as we are about to deliver our most important point of emphasis.

We've seen all of the pros on YouTube deliver their content beautifully while maintaining eye contact with the viewer and feeling like they're speaking to us instead of squinting off into the distance at their script that's taped to their wall behind their computer (*raises hand* guilty..)

Let's face it... While it would be nice, we don't all have the YouTuber studio set up and most of us certainly don't have a teleprompter hanging around in our attics next to our Halloween decorations.

So, what's the solution?

I'm glad you asked! You don't need a fancy expensive teleprompter to deliver a great presentation via Zoom, Teams, or whichever other method you are using to record your content. You can create your own "teleprompter" using your web/computer camera and programs that are likely already installed on your computer!

Here is a great video we found the focuses specifically on Zoom and Microsoft word, but the same concept would apply with other word processors and recording software.
